Music for

Fauré v. Duruflé – you decide!

A choral workshop hosted by Finchley Chamber Choir, led by Daniel Mahoney, Assistant Chorus Director of the London Symphony Chorus and Music Director of Wimbledon Choral, Reading Bach Choir, and Dorking Choral Society.

Discover the similarities, contrasts and enduring appeal of the Requiems of Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Duruflé in this stimulating choral workshop.  Although separated by half a century, these remarkable works share a distinctive spirit while revealing fascinating contrasts in style, harmony and expression. Through discussion and singing, we will compare the two Requiems movement by movement, discovering how and why they differ, and gaining fresh insight into both masterpieces. Ideal for experienced choral singers and anyone already familiar with one or both works.

At the end of the day, participants can vote to choose which Requiem we will perform in a mini performance – feel free to invite family and friends to attend, at no charge.

Your ticket includes complementary tea, coffee and biscuits during the breaks; please bring your own lunch (or there are plenty of places you can buy food nearby).

🎟️ Tickets for this workshop will be on sale shortly.
